I was approached by a friend about this project. She was a member of a Facebook group that at times would get locked down or banned due to controversial viewpoints. I suggested to the friend that maybe it would be better suited as its own dedicated site, and so I kicked off this Python Django project. I enlisted my dear friend Alice Lee for the amazing hero illustration.
While I enjoyed further learning Django I became frustrated with some of the page load speeds and the outdated server-side templating framework. Ideally something like hydrated js pages should be built from Django. I also used Django-CMS for this. I like the idea, it feels like it's trying to be a bit like the WordPress of Python.
